When can I expect to see the tournament schedule?Tournament Schedules will be released by 10:00PM CST the Wednesday of tournament week.How do the "Gold" "Silver" "Bronze" & "Open" Divisions at Pipe City work?Pipe City has an "Gold" and "Silver" division at most of our age levels.
The "Gold" division is the toughest division and is intended for elite and all-star teams. Teams in this division are typically among the best in their respective states.
The "Silver" division is an intermediate division, comprised mostly of regional, select school or club teams.
The "Bronze" division is for teams who are not quite ready for the select travel level and is comprised mostly of competitive community or school teams.
The "Open" division has no distinction in level of play, all teams are welcome and encouraged to play.
What is the registration recommendation for the 2016/2017 & 2015/2016 High School Divisions?2016/2017 - Generally, this division is for competitive JV teams, both regional and local, as well as national. (Please remember that the oldest a player can be in this division is a "Rising Junior", no exceptions).
2015/2016 - Generally, this division is for competitive Varsity teams and is the highest level of competition for High School teams. Highly competitive JV teams are welcome to register for this division if they feel it is the best fit for their team. (Please remember that the oldest a player can be in this division is a "Rising Senior", no exceptions).
What time frame will the games be scheduled in?Games will be scheduled between 8AM and 8PM on Saturday, July 12th. The tournament will begin at 8AM and will conclude by 6PM at the latest on Sunday, July 13th. Start and end times may vary based on number of tournament teams. Please understand that the more you win, the later you will be scheduled on Sunday. The tournament will finish with a championship game at each level.
Are all games played in one location or do we have to drive to other locations?Pipe City Lacrosse Festival will be at one large location; Vernon Hills Athletic Complex. This large complex has more than 20 fields for the tournament. Please keep in mind that the complex is large so walking from field to field may take some time.
What is there to do in Vernon Hills?Vernon Hills is a north suburb of Chicago. If you would like to go into the city and see the sights, it is about a 50 minute drive (traffic depending). However, you will find great local entertainment right in Vernon Hills. A variety of restaurants and local attractions will be listed in the Pipe City Tournament Booklet, which will be available for families on July 11th at each of our hotels. What amenities will be available Pipe City?Pipe City will house all of our amenities and entertainment at Vendor Village. Vendor Village will host our sponsor, Warrior, as well as many other local vendors. You will find food and beverages, lacrosse retail booths, and Pipe City Tournament merchandise.
How many teams will be at Pipe City tournament?Pipe City 2014 is expecting more than 150 teams; however, the number is dependent on registrations within each divisions.
Can we bring a grill to barbeque at the event?Unfortunately, grills are prohibited at the complex.
Are pets allowed at the complex?Pets are not allowed at Vernon Hills Athletic Complex. If you bring your pet you will be asked to leave tournament grounds.
Refund Policy:There is a 50% refund, of the full tournament fee, prior to June 2nd, 2014. There will be no refunds beginning June 2nd.
